Afternoon in the Garment District!

I met up with my designer friend, Calvin Tran in the garment district on Friday to source new fabrics and to make some cute new pieces to put in the Yumi Kim shop. The best part about having a store is that I get to experiment and make limited pieces to test out before I put it in the line.

Business Tip of The Week:
Sometimes it’s good to do a small test run of a new style/product to get feedback. If it registers well with your customers, then put it in your collection. If it doesn’t, you know it’s time to give it the boot and move onto the next design!

DESIGN WEEK in NYC- Part III

I stopped by a few Design Week parties in SOHO after work on Monday. Since my office is in SOHO, it was a hop-skip-and jump away!

All I did was drool….drool…drool!

DESIGN WEEK in NYC- Part II

I finally made it over to the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) Design Show at the Javitz Center on Sunday. Being that I’m a huge modern furniture fan, this was a trade show I didn’t want to miss out on! I LOVE Sleek-Clean-Cutting edge designs!

Design Week in NYC – Part I

I am a HUGE fan of modern furniture! One of the things I always look forward to every year in NYC is Design Week. It’s always so refreshing to check out other creative industries outside of fashion. I find it so inspiring! Besides checking out the cool furnishings at the ICFF show, I LOVE attending all the cool parties all week long. Free food, free drinks, and free goodies…how could I say no right?

TGIF-Friends & Family Day!

Yesterday was GORGEOUS…GORGEOUS…GORGEOUS!
I woke up early and spent the AM w/the babies (YUMI & MIZU-her cousin) and then we met up with my good friends for brunch.

Sometimes I get so crazed with work that it’s hard to make time to meet up with my friends to catch up. I have to always remind myself that it’s important to make “ME TIME” once in a while and ENJOY LIFE! Gotta remind myself-”All work and no play will make Kim a dull girl!”

Yesterday was all about spending time with my FAMILY and FRIENDS. It’s always nice to take a mini break and just enjoy life a bit. Thank goodness I make my own schedule! I’m very blessed to be doing what I LOVE and can honestly say I LOVE what I do!
